What to Expect from an Agent

From the beginning you should expect a Realtor to be committed to your goals and dreams, to listen to your wants and needs.  I consider myself, not a salesperson, but rather that trusted advisor and consummate professional, you need to help you through the complex and tedious process of selecting and purchasing a home, a home of your choice, not someone else’s.

In order for you to be comfortable with me, you must be able to have trust and confidence in me.

My job is far more involved than just selling a house.  I will be there for you through the entire process.

ü  To offer advice an information

ü  To search out homes that meet your expectations

ü  To present your offer and negotiate aggressively on your behalf, while keeping all your confidences and representing your best interests at all times.

You can count on me before, during and after the transaction.  My goal is to provide you with the most capable and competent service possible, and exceed your expectations, while making it a please experience along the way.

I can’t afford to be in this business simply for the commission of a transaction.  Because I am a “By Referral Only” Realtor, I am striving to be your Realtor for life.  I need the referrals of your friends, relatives and co-workers; and your future business too.

In order for me to be comfortable with you, I need your loyalty.

I believe in the importance of providing clients with the most expert, competent service possible and devoting as much time as possible to their quest.  The only way I can do this is by having them committed to me.  Therefore, I choose to spend my time working with clients that will make this commitment to me and share this mutual respect with each other.

Having people trust me and believe in me will result in clients wanting to be loyal to me.  Without this, I have to generate business by the methods other Realtors use, which takes away valuable time I prefer to use working for my clients, which will benefit them and result in their success.  That’s why my service level must be so high, and my time used properly.

I am prepared to commit my time and expertise to you, if you are prepared to make a commitment to me.

Let me be your guide.

Working with a real estate agent can save you endless amounts of time, money and frustration.  A good agent knows the market inside and out and can ultimately help you avoid many wild goose chases.  She can help you with any home, regardless of who it is listed with.  She can find you the homes you can’t find on your own and she can tell if a house is priced correctly and is a good value.

Most important, a real estate professional will simplify the complex process of home buying.  Perhaps you’re wondering how much an agent will charge you for all this help.  Absolutely nothing!  Agents generally receive payment by a commission that is paid by the seller.  But this agent is still your exclusive agent (with a signed buyer agency agreement) because in the state of Washington there is a law concerning buyer agency which says that the buyer has a right to representation.  See the section on buyer agency in this booklet for more details.

It is also important, I think, to work with an agent that will not pressure you into a decision or will only show you a specific number of homes or the homes they want you to see.  This is a major decision in your life and only YOU, not your agent, will know when you have found the right home.
